Hilliar Township is one of the twenty-two townships of Knox County, 俄亥俄州, 美國. The 2000 census found 3,080 people in the township, 1,648 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.[3]
地理
[編輯]Located in the southwestern corner of the county, 與以下鎮區接壤:
- South Bloomfield Township, Morrow County - 北
- Liberty Township - 北east corner
- Milford Township - 東
- Bennington Township, Licking County - 東南 corner
- Hartford Township, Licking County - 南
- Trenton Township, Delaware County - 南west corner
- Porter Township, Delaware County - 西
- Bennington Township, Morrow County - 北west corner
The village of Centerburg is located in central Hilliar Township.
The farthest west township in Knox County, it is the only township that borders Delaware County.
Name and history
[編輯]Hilliar Township was established in 1818. It was named for Dr. Richard Hilliar, a pioneer settler and landowner.[4]
It is the only Hilliar Township statewide.[5]
政府
[編輯]鎮區有3人組成的理事會管理。理事會理事選舉在奇數年11月舉行,並在來年1月1日開始四年任期。兩名理事的選舉在總統選舉後一年舉行,另一名的選舉在總統選舉前一年舉行。鎮區財務官亦由選舉產生[6],與一名鎮區理事選舉同時舉行,不過在來年4月1日才開始四年任期。若財務官或理事職位有空缺,將由剩餘理事填補。
