Nile Township is one of the sixteen townships of Scioto County, 俄亥俄州, 美國. The 2010 census found 2,388 people in the township.[3]
地理
[編輯]Located in the southwestern corner of the county along the Ohio River, 與以下鎮區接壤：
- Brush Creek Township - 北
- Union Township - 北east
- Washington Township - 東
- Green Township, Adams County - 西
- Jefferson Township, Adams County - 北west
Lewis County, Kentucky lies across the Ohio River to the south.
No municipalities are located in Nile Township, although the unincorporated community of Friendship lies in the township's boundaries.
Shawnee State Forest covers much of Nile Township as well as neighboring Washington Township.
It has the greatest area of any township in the county.
Name and history
[編輯]It is the only Nile Township statewide.[4]
Nile Township was organized August 9, 1803.[5]
政府
[編輯]鎮區有3人組成的理事會管理。理事會理事選舉在奇數年11月舉行，並在來年1月1日開始四年任期。兩名理事的選舉在總統選舉後一年舉行，另一名的選舉在總統選舉前一年舉行。鎮區財務官亦由選舉產生[6]，與一名鎮區理事選舉同時舉行，不過在來年4月1日才開始四年任期。若財務官或理事職位有空缺，將由剩餘理事填補。
